This album is the product of some very fruitful and symbiotic collaborations; these tracks are a bit of a departure for me, and they stretch me in new directions. The album was mixed and mastered in Beachwood Canyon by the extraordinary Rick Parker (Lord Huron, The Ravonettes, BRMC), who also produced the majority of the songs. Strings are courtesy of strings wiz Stevie Blacke (Beck, Rhianna, Colbie Caillat), And I got a chance to record up in beautiful Ojai, California, in a peaceful orange grove, with the mega-talented Oliver Newell (He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister), who has converted a vintage airstream trailer into a magical music studio. So if you happen to detect the sound of crickets in the background, you’ll know why. It was a very inspiring and memorable place to make music.
